QUESTION TAGS
Question tag is a technique to focus
or emphasize on the meaning of a sentence.
Rules: 1) The tag should use the same
‘person’ as in the sentence.
2) If the sentence verb is negative, the tag verb
should be positive and vice-
versa.
3)The tag should use the same ‘tense’ as the sentence
verb.

Those books are mine, are't those oror aren they? Which one is right?

Delete"aren't they?"is the right answer. Because the subject in the sentence is "those books" and not just "those". "(aren't) they" refers to "those books".

DeleteAlthough the sentence verb "speaks" is singular, the tag verb "don't" is plural because the subject "Everybody" means all of them.
Note:
The Subjects anyone, anybody, no one, nobody, none, neither, everyone, someone, somebody, everybody etc use "they" as the Subject in the tag part.
